MICROCOSMOS OF CLAY
The exhibition “Figurines. A microcosmos
of clay”, at the Archaeological Museum,
presents 672 figurines from the
Neolithic Era to the late Roman period,
aiming not only to acquaint us with
their form and evolution, but also to
help us understand the deeper meaning
of these objects, that have remained
intact through time. Most of the exhibits
are presented to the public for the first
time, as a sheer panorama of figurines
from the 7th millennium BC to the 4th
century AD. Η έκθεση «Ειδώλιο. Ένας
μικρόκοσμος από πηλό», στο Αρχαιολογικό
Μουσείο, παρουσιάζει 672 ειδώλια από τη
Νεολιθική εποχή έως τα ύστερα Ρωμαϊκά
χρόνια, με σκοπό όχι μόνο την κατανόηση
της μορφολογίας και της εξέλιξης των
συγκεκριμένων αντικειμένων, αλλά και
την ψηλάφηση των μηνυμάτων που
μεταφέρουν οι μορφές αυτές που φθάνουν
στο σήμερα από τα βάθη του χρόνου. Τα
περισσότερα εκθέματα παρουσιάζονται στο
κοινό για πρώτη φορά ως ένα πραγματικό
πανόραμα των ειδωλίων από την 7η
χιλιετία έως τον 4ο αι. μ.Χ.
